Client: International Organization for Migration (IOM) | Funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS)
In alignment with Egypt’s national priorities, IOM — with funding from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) — implemented the PLAY project to address irregular migration among Egyptian youth. The initiative delivered enhanced employment opportunities in the tourism sector, directly supporting Egypt’s Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS) 2030 under Pillar 1 (Economic Development) and Pillar 7 (Education and Training). Through market-relevant skills development, the project promoted youth integration into the formal labor market as a sustainable alternative to irregular migration.
Impact
- Expanded employability opportunities for Egyptian youth within the tourism sector.
- Established safe and sustainable career pathways as structured alternatives to irregular migration.
- Strengthened international collaboration in vocational education and skills development.
